St. Anthony Jubilee

Parishioners stand during mass at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont. The mass celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Cathedral, the 40th anniversary of the Beaumont Diocese, the elevation of the cathedral to minor basilica and commemorated the 5th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Good stuff. How was the lighting in the Cathedral? I feel a post coming on shooting in churches and at solem events.

Before they turned on all the lights, I was concerned. It was 1/40th at f/2.8 and 1000iso. After the bishop entered, it was 1.60th at 2.8. In some spots it was even at 1/100. :-)
I've been meaning to do the funeral post (already have the shots reserved), but I keep working on other things. It's coming...

Just wanted to say ditto to Justin's comment. I've shot in some of these churches where you are sometimes lucky to get a 1/30th at 1600 and you also have several different colors of lighting. So way to go, these shots are great.
