China Wang Buffet
China Wang Buffet offers several chef specialties such as Seaweed Rolls (clockwise from top, left), Ebi Shrimp and Peach Shape Pockets at the restaurant in Lewisville on Thursday, February 27, 2003.
It did appear in the paper in the Guide section. It's a news photo to go with a restaurant review written by a news reporter. The reporter can say whatever s/he wishes about the restaurant, so it's certainly not an ad. Additionally, reporters eat at a different time without notice and pay full price for whatever dishes they review. If someone wishes, they might want to call it an illustration, but this image is "news."

Cow tastes better -- especially when you cook it.
We rescue starfish (and gekkos) in this household. ;-)
would you call this journalism or advertising if it appeared in the paper?
