I asked her specifically if she was retiring or quitting. She said she was quitting. It's always good to double check all assignment information. Retiring after many years is expected. Quitting is not.

Did she tell you Why she quit? Retiring is obvious, but was it something that the hospital did to make her quit? Just wondering.
You know how hospitals are. There was a PR rep in the room as well.
