The Port of Beaumont remains secure in Beaumont on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. The Bush administration announced it will have the transportation Security Administration start background checks on all port workers.

Answering criticism about security gaps, the Bush administration said an estimated 400,000 port workers across the nation will have background checks to ensure they do not pose terror threats.
