I already planned to get a kayak this summer. It's not as cool as some of these boats, but closer to my budget ... and the gators.

I'm jealous. I want to get a kayak real bad, but I'm thinking this year is out of the question. You're right, they aren't as cool as a boat, but they offer a nice, peaceful ride on the water. Toss in a few rapids, and there's a day's worth of fun.

The only rapids in Southeast Texas involve a large gator near the kayak.
However, there are small, muddy breakers on the coast. There's also gators and bull sharks there.

Don't you Texans carry firearms? What's the worry? I heard gator-skin boots were pretty popular. ;-)

Gators have more rights than horse thieves. You can only kill a gator for 20 days out of the year, and you have to have a special license.
